I bought this set because I have a bit of history with Japanese prints. I once worked on a website that sells these prints, and I started to like the art form. This is also the reason I now have a Japanese print in my living room. All in all, a great reason to start with this LEGO art piece!

Build Experience

It’s actually put together quite well. The back is actually nothing more than several backplates connected together with the black pins. Each separate plate gets a few raised sections (to create depth) for the waves for example and from there it is basically continuously sticking 1x1 tiles onto the plates.

Details and Design

After completing the print, I have to say it is quite a beautiful LEGO art piece. From a distance, it certainly resembles Hokusai's print.

Overall Judgment

The frame itself is somewhat boring to build, but the print itself is enjoyable. It looks good, and I will proobably consider building this one again.
