The White House

The White House is a set that I would not choose for myself, the architectural theme is actually quite nice, but I notice that it appeals to me a bit less then other sets would. Maybe it is because there are still too many other sets that I would like to build. Nontheless, I was able to borrow this set, and that gave me a push to try building an the white house.

Build experience

I actually found building this set a lot more fun than initially expected. It is a set that mainly contains a lot of very small bricks, and I mean a lot! I am actually not really someone who enjoys the true lego fiddly work and I tend to prefer the variation between small and somewhat larger bricks. But in this case it actually wasn't too bad. I could still reasonably manage with my somewhat large adult fingers to reach everything properly. But with fiddly builds I do notice that sometimes I am a bit too clumsy. I broke the roof by applying too much force while attaching the pillars.

Unfortunately, that means I had to rebuild some pieces.

Details and the design

I can’t remember how long I ended up building, but I recon it was around 5 to 6 hours. And the result is actually quite nice; it is a fairly detailed set and it manages to capture the image I have of the White House. All in all, certainly a nice set to place somewhere and enjoy, especially if you like architecture!
